Tammy Abraham's move to Beşiktaş has been made permanent. The Turkish giants have paid Roma €13m (around £11.3m) to complete the transfer, confirmed on 26 January 2026, with the striker signing a four-year contract at the club.
The deal has its roots in the summer of 2025, when Abraham joined Beşiktaş on loan for a reported €2m fee, with an obligation-to-buy clause worth €13m built into the agreement. That clause was not optional once certain conditions were met, and Abraham triggered it himself, starting and scoring in a Süper Lig win over Eyüpspor that satisfied the terms and made his move permanent.
Beşiktaş wanted Abraham as the focal point of a counter-attacking side built under head coach Sergen Yalçın, and he repaid that faith quickly. He scored 10 goals in his first 18 appearances for the club and had reached 12 in 24 games by the time the transfer became permanent in January, giving Beşiktaş little reason to hesitate over the fee.
For Roma, the sale draws a line under Abraham's second spell away from the club. He had already been loaned out for a full season at AC Milan in 2024-25 before that move wasn't made permanent, and with Gian Piero Gasperini arriving as head coach and reshaping the forward line around Artem Dovbyk, there was no route back into the side. Abraham scored 37 goals in 120 appearances across his time as a Roma player, but the funds from this sale, plus the loan fee banked the previous summer, have helped Gasperini strengthen elsewhere.
Abraham's form in Turkey has been the standout feature of the deal. Used as an out-and-out number nine, he has been a regular starter and a reliable source of goals, with his return of 12 in 24 appearances marking one of the most productive spells of his career since leaving Chelsea.
At Beşiktaş, he slots straight into Yalçın's team as the main striker, leading the press and holding the ball up for a side set up to break quickly. Abraham has spoken warmly about his time at the club, praising president Serdal Adalı and Yalçın directly: "I fell in love with this place from the first day. The fans, the team, the staff, you made me feel like family." The four-year contract suggests both parties see this as a long-term fit rather than a short-term fix.
