Como have signed 18-year-old Swedish midfielder Adrian Lahdo from Hammarby on a permanent deal, with the Italian club confirming his arrival on 3 February 2026. The fee is reported at around €10m, and Lahdo has signed a long-term contract running to 2031. Hammarby have described it as the biggest sale in the club's history, with the deal only completed in the final minutes of the window after Como returned with an improved offer.
Como's head coach Cesc Fàbregas is understood to have driven the signing personally, seeing in Lahdo a player with a similar profile to his own game: comfortable in tight spaces, quick to switch between defending and attacking, and able to operate in more than one midfield role. Como also had to see off interest from Chelsea to get the deal done, a sign of how highly the teenager is rated outside Sweden.
For Hammarby, it's a significant loss. Lahdo came through the club's own academy, made his first-team debut in October 2024 against Djurgården, and had become one of the more exciting young attacking players in the Allsvenskan. Sporting director Mikael Hjelmberg said the club had wanted to tie him to a new contract, but once Como's revised offer landed, Hammarby felt they had to accept it. Sweden's under-age set-up will still see plenty of him — Lahdo has represented his country at under-17, under-18 and under-19 level.
His recent output backs up the hype. In the 2025 Allsvenskan season Lahdo made 14 league appearances, scoring once and adding three assists, and across all competitions he was involved in 18 games for Hammarby's first team. His minutes were limited — around 396 in the league — but he still posted an average match rating in the high 7s, a strong return for a teenager still establishing himself. He operated mainly from the left but showed enough in central areas to convince Como he could play multiple midfield positions.
At Como, Lahdo is expected to start out rotating between the first team and the club's younger squads rather than walking straight into Fàbregas's XI, with the current Como squad already well stocked in midfield. But with injuries and loan departures thinning that group out in recent weeks, there's a route to minutes sooner rather than later, and the length of his contract suggests Como see him as a multi-year project rather than a squad filler.
The move fits a pattern for Fàbregas's Como: identify young, technically gifted players from smaller leagues and back them with genuine transfer fees rather than free transfers or loans. Whether Lahdo nails down a regular starting role this season or needs time to adapt to Serie A's pace and physicality will shape how much of an impact this signing has in the short term.
