The Premier League club will pay an initial £12.5 million, with a further £2.5 million available in add-ons that could take the total fee past £15 million. He arrives off the back of an excellent season with Millwall, having played a key role for them as they finished in the playoffs." Brighton have been searching for competition and creativity out wide, and Azeez's end product in the Championship last season made him one of the most in-demand attacking players outside the top flight.

For Millwall, this is a significant loss. Azeez had become the focal point of their attack, and his departure comes with a note of reluctance from the club itself. In their statement confirming the sale, Millwall said: "Femi expressed a strong desire to depart the club this window in pursuit of Premier League football, which The Lions have reluctantly agreed to accept." His recent form explains the price tag. Azeez scored 11 goals and added eight assists in 37 Championship appearances for Millwall last season as they reached the play-offs, taking his overall record at the club to 15 goals in 77 games. Those performances earned him selection in both the PFA and EFL Championship Team of the Season for 2025/26. He has also broken into the Nigeria squad, scoring twice on his international debut against Zimbabwe in June before adding an assist against Jamaica.

At Brighton, Azeez joins a squad built on pace, movement and directness under Fabian Hürzeler, and his goal returns from wide areas fit that profile. He arrives as Brighton's eleventh signing of the summer window, giving Hürzeler fresh competition on the right flank as the club continues to blend Championship-proven talent with its usual recruitment model. Given the fee and the fanfare around his arrival, he will be expected to push for regular minutes rather than serve purely as squad depth.

Speaking to supporters after arriving at Brighton's training ground, Azeez said simply: "Sorry to keep you waiting" — a nod to a deal that went right to the wire on deadline day.
